USPA NEWS - On July 10 2015, The Tony Elumelu Foundation Host 1000 Pan-African Emerging Entrepreneurs In Lagos, Nigeria To $100M Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme Boot Camp. (Rebuilding Africa) “˜I am confident that these entrepreneurs are Africa´s hope for the future,´ Mr. Tony Elumelu said.
As part of Tony Elumelu´s $100 million commitment to empowering African entrepreneurs, 1,000 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs, representing 51 African countries from the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP) Class of 2015, converged near Lagos, Nigeria for an intensive two-day boot camp session, an unprecedented gathering of emerging African entrepreneurs, from 10-12 July, 2015.

It was the largest ever gathering of emerging entrepreneurs on the African continent, the boot camp ““ which was a major milestone of the flagship programme of the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) ““that saw an interaction between established entrepreneurs from different sectors of industry, and the 1000 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurs.
Mr. Elumelu who has been vocal about entrepreneurship-led development and the push for a private sector-driven turnaround of Africa says, “In empowering these emerging entrepreneurs, we are providing the capital, the networks, the training and support for them to drive economic and social transformation throughout Africa, providing solutions to its problems as well as securing their future and that of generations to come.“

After the bootcamp, the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme is now focusing on providing the seed capital and support for the entrepreneurs to put into practice the knowledge gained from the bootcamp and the 12 weeks of training that was carried out prior to the event. Africa is on the RISE!
